On Monday at COP18/CMP8, Dr Tara Shine, Head of Research and Development at the Foundation, and Edward Cameron, Director, International Climate Initiative at the World Resources Institute, were selected as the ‘Quote of the Day’ by Outreach Magazine.
The quote: “Climate change was predicted to arrive tomorrow but it is happening today. For this reason, the moment for climate justice has arrived” was taken from their article The Climate Justice Dialogue: Inspiring a new framework for climate action. The article goes on to call on all nations to act together to close the emissions gap as equity cannot be about sharing failure.
The need for a new framework for climate action at the international level has prompted the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice to launch the Climate Justice Dialogue, an innovative new initiative that aims to mobilise political will and creative thinking to shape an equitable and ambitious international climate agreement in 2015.
