Hadeel Ibrahim is the founding Executive Director of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, which was established in 2006 to support leadership and governance in Africa.
Hadeel is also co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Africa Center in New York, whose mission is to promote partnership, collaboration, dialogue and understanding between African artists, business leaders and civil society and their counterparts in the United States and beyond.
Hadeel sits of the Boards of the Mary Robinson Foundation for Climate Justice, the Clinton Foundation, Synergos Institute, Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS), 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair, and the Governing Board of the African Governance Institute (AGI).
Hadeel is a member of the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Humanitarian Financing, of the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards Judging Panel and of the Judging Academy for the Global Teacher Prize, which seeks to celebrate and strengthen the teaching profession. She is a member of the Advisory Board of Africa 2.0, of Amnesty International’s Secretary General’s Global Council and MIT Legatum Center for Development & Entrepreneurship. She is a member of the Royal African Society Council and is a Patron of Restless Development, a youth led development agency.
